Monteverde/Arenal to Manuel Antonio Transfers

Hello everyone,

I'm planning a trip to Costa Rica in early January and I was having some trouble figuring out the best means of transportation from either Monteverde or Arenal to Manuel Antonio. I will not be renting a car and I was trying to figure out the most direct route. Are there direct public buses? I can't seem to find any. Is Interbus my only option for direct travel?

Thank you!

Your best bet, which you do need to reserve in advance, is a shared shuttle: https://www.interbusonline.com/home/home.asp. I'm not sure if you have Super Shuttle in New York (blue vans with the yellow writing)-if so, this is exactly what it's like. :-) You could also fly down on Nature Air: http://www.natureair.com. These would be my best 2 recommendations. Enjoy!

You can...do soemnthing like...

SJO to Arenal...Arenal...about 3 hours...

Arenal to Manuel antonio...about 4 hours...

Manuel Antonio to SJO..3 hours...

For about $ 249.00 per persoon for all the 3 transfers... 100% private!

Grayline also serves this route. Some of the people on my Arenal shuttle this morning were going to Manuel Antonio. There are transfer points where everyone swaps vans and luggage. This potentially means some backtracking.

If you don't make private arrangements there are discounts for sticking to one shuttle company versus the other. Grayline uses newer vans but the Interbus drivers I had were a bit friendlier.
