La Fortuna hotel help please

I need help! I'm looking for a hotel for 2 nights (Jan 31 and Feb 1) in La Fortuna. Everytime I think one looks good, I read reviews and skip right down to the Terrible and Poor and then have second thoughts. I'd like to keep it around $100/nt. A few places I looked at (but then got scared off) are Arenal Paradiso and Volcano Lodge and Gardens. Other places we are staying on our trip are Hacienda Guichipelin, Los Pinos Cabanas and Tree House CR.

Thanks!

Any other suggestions? That hotel just seems a bit boring considering the other hotels we've got booked.

Arenal Paradiso and Volcano Lodge and Gardens are very similar properties (I have stayed at both) but the Arenal Paradiso has the advantage of having their own hot springs and an on-site canopy. Now the springs cannot compare to Tabacon or The Springs but they are not bad for the price - "Free" The restaurant is a little nicer at Volcano Lodge and Gardens and reasonably priced. They are so close to each other that location is irrelevant. The views are about the same.

Take a look at Kokoro and the Volcano Inn.

I like the Arenal Volcano Inn if you want something a bit more special than just a hotel room. If you want to be in walking distance to everything...check out Hotel San Bosco and Hotel Arenal Rabfer...both are just a block off the main square, have pools and are great on the budget. :-)

Thanks everyone. I have decided on and booked into the Arenal Volcano Inn. I've got all rooms and car booked now! Only 2 1/2 weeks to go!
