Paquare from Arenal?

Is it possible to raft this river from Arenal, or do the rafting companies only pick up in San jose area?

I'm not sure about rafting from Arenal and then going back to Arenal, but there are companies like Exploradores Outdoors and Rios Tropicales that offer Pacuare raft and transfer between Arenal and San Jose for around $99/pp including breakfast and lunch, a great deal IMO.

You would need to go to Pacuare first and then on to Arenal. If you want to do it from Arenal you would need to drive very early to the Pacuare river. From arenal you can do whitewater rafting to El Toro River or La Balsa or Sarapiqui

If you don't have your heart set on the Pacuare, we had a great time rafting the Sarapiqui out of Arenal with Rios Tropicales.

To do Pacaure...you have to drive first to Turrialba to the Put IN...then you will ride the wild waters all the way to Siquirres at the take out...from there you can go to Arenal...

Even that you can do Pacuare from Arenal...it will be costly...the best way to do it is San Jose...Turrialba..PACUARE river Siquirres then to Arenal...

Exploradores Outdoors will pick you up from Arenal or San Jose and drop you off at either location after your raft trip. We had a great trip with them a few years ago, and saved on transportation costs as well as they drove us to our second location as part of the tour price. They have a large storage facility at the put in location to house all the luggage. Then, after rafting is done, you basically get in the bus/van that is going to your next destination.

Riley is correct, Exploradores Outdoors will pick you up and drop off at Arenal. Great o use also if you are heading for the Caribbean side.
