Costa Rica in June

My fiancé and I will be honeymooning in Costa Rica next June and wanted to know where to go. We want decent surf conditions, seclusion, hiking or rafting, and an overall feel like we are on the beach in a jungle away from all the tourist traps. Any information or recommendations would be much appreciated!!!

Well there are a couple of spots in CR that fit your requirement.

Not touristy, seclusion, hiking, rafting & surf look at Uvita/Dominical/Ojochal area.

Hiking - http://www.haciendabaru.com/

Corcovado National Park hiking: http://www.bahiaaventuras.com and http://www.dolphintourcostarica.com and http://www.perladelsur.net

Also oportunities at Rancho La Merced - http://www.rancholamerced.com/ and Oro Verde Reserve

Surfing great surfing in Dominical Beach, Playa Hermosa de Osa (near Uvita) and begginer beaches Playa Uvita (Chaman), Dominicalito. Classes: http://www.bodhisurfschool.com or http://www.uvitasurfcamp.com or www.dominicalsurfadventures.com

Water Rafting: www.dominicalsurfadventures.com

Also Drake & Cabo Matapalo may be of interest though no water rafting nor surfing.

I would consider Dominical. Good surf, some rafting rivers nearby, not developed and overcrowded with tourists.

Yup, Dominical is the first place that pops in my head reading what you are looking for.

There are other places though too, Mal Pais and further up into the Nicoya Peninsula. But I do not think there is much in the way of rafting over that way.

More will chime in soon but Dominical gets my vote.

You may find all you are looking for around Puerto Viejo on the South Caribbean coast. There is an option to go rafting on the Pacuare river as part of your travel from or to San Jose.

Ah and of course congratulations, have a blast!

I would recomend you a cave near dominical, a place sorround with waterfalls, you'll sleep there underneed one, it's great, I did that! you'll have a guide that take you to the trail, he'lll be your cheff, and you can also do rapeling down in the waterfalls! it's not on the beach, but it is close and very nice! contact tree of life at (506) 89107620

have fun!
