Rain in September

How big of a chance am I taking of getting rained out if I travel to the Playa Hermosa on the Papagayo Penninsula in middle September for seven days?

Sept-Oct the the rainiest of the Green Season, but that area of the Pacific is usually the driest. I would say you might get a lot of rain but no one knows fro sure

Chances are that the weather will be wet, but it isn`t cold so it isn`t a terrible thing. If you`re looking for a sunny, dry Costa Rican vacation, the Caribbean coast has its driest time in September.

Have a great trip!

I went to Playa Hermosa for 3 weeks in Sept with the full expectation of rain every day. It actually was only cloudy/rainy 1 day. Most other days were sunny or had a brief shower about 4:00 PM. While I probably lucked out, I certainly will not hesitate to go in September again. Less crowded, better prices and great for going a little south of there for turtle nesting.

I agree with islandgirl. I love Costa Rica in Sept. I made several trips to Costa Rica in Sept (before I moved here) and I never had a complete wash out.

It can be wet...but most of the time rarely will rain for a week or the whole day!
