We'll be in CR for thirteen days in July and are trying not to overpack. We'll be near Arenal and Tenorio National Parks for most of the visit with a few beach days at the end of our trip. Is hiking in the rainforest with Tevas (slightly open but strapped sandals with covered does) OK? Are we better off with trail/rugged running shoes? I don't want to pack more shoes than we need, since they take up so much space. We were hoping to wear running shoes on the plane bring and one pair of Tevas. Sound OK? If we're bringing ponchos, will we also need lightweight rain jackets or fleece? We're planning to bring quick-dry clothes, knowing we'll be in the 'green' season. We were thinking two pairs of pants, four shorts, six T shirts, two long-sleeve shirts, and two bathing suits per person -- with the assumption that we can do wash somewhere. Too much?
