Costa Rica at the end of September

Just how rainy is Costa Rica at the end of September? Does it rain all day or just specific times of day? What exactly should we be prepared for as far as the weather?

It all depends on which corner of Costa Rica you are headed for.

September is the rainiest month of the year along the Pacific coast. Lots more rain in the south Pacific coastal areas with lesser amounts along the north coast. You can expect gray clouds and rain more days than not in September, but of course there are no guarantees - you could also hit a week of sunshine.

By contrast the Caribbean coast has its best weather in September and October.

Unless you head for the Caribbean side, you can probably expect a little to lots of rain.

As you can see, the Caribbean side looks a lot more pleasant than the Pacific side.
