Family trip: Need Help Planning

Seeking help planning my first trip to CR. Have two preteen kids. Goal would be to stay in one place, one week, but use it as home base to do tours, zip lining, go to beach, etc. What's a good resort? Seeking quality.

I agree with RoadAdvisor. Manuel Antonio is a nice place. The National Park is nice and fun: monkeys, beaches, hiking to do...

It has great restaurants and hotels.

If you want to compare places and price, this is my favourite tool:

Manuel Antonio Hotels: southerncostarica.biz/Manuel-Antonio/…

Enjoy!

Another vote for Manuel Antonio. You can rent a car and drive yourself (3 hours) or hire a private driver which is an even easier means of getting around. You don't really need a car in Manuel Antonio as there is a bus running to the beach and taxis are plentiful and fairly cheap. I'd suggest you take a look at Buena Vista Villas and the hotel Si Como No and see if either meets your criteria and budget. There's tons to do in the area around Manuel Antonio i addition to the beach incluidng exploring wildlife in the national park, boat tours through the mangroves at Islas Damas, ziplines, hanging bridges at Rainmaker Reserve, horseback rides to waterfalls, sunset sails, night hikes and more.
