Diesel vs Regular Gas

Heading to Costa Rica next week. Flying into Liberia and heading to Tamarindo. Is diesel gas cheaper than regular and does anyone know current prices. Thinking of renting a Mitsubishi Montero turbo diesel.

kinda hard to say, really. if you compare the montero diesel to a montero or similar sized suv gasoline model, the diesel will be cheaper to run. if you compare the montero diesel to a small car, like a jimny or terios (both gas), then the smaller car will be cheaper to run. long story short, if you need a big car like a montero, go for the diesel. i rented one of these in cr a few years ago and it's a very nice ride.
