Clothes to bring for Costa Rica (April)

Hi, everyone,

We will be in CR from April 03 until the 16th of April covering Mauel Antonio, Arenal, Monteverde and the Pacific north coast. Obviously shorts and T-shirts are a must. Aside from rain jackets, would it get cold during night time? Would we need, say, a soft shell jacket? Any other things we need to make sure we bring? Thank you.

We're heading there is a couple of days ... I googled the weather forecast and am bringing some light layers.

For 'other things', this thread is great (lengthy, but some really good suggestions): tripadvisor.ca/ShowTopic-g291982-i813-k49439…

Lightweight clothes that dry easily. No blue jeans or heavy t-shirts. No dressy clothes, high heels, hair dryers, etc etc.

Think in terms of layers. At the northern Pacific beaches, it will be hot hot; at Arenal, it will be hot; in Monteverde, it will be wet and cool.

It will be cool at night in Monteverde so if you have a long-sleeve shirt and a waterproof, very light windbreaker, that will work well. Some people opt to bring a light fleece jacket and that also works - but - doesn't help with the rain.

For the northern Pacific beach, shorts, tank top, sandals. Cooler at night, especially if there's a late afternoon shower and a breeze so shawl or long-sleeve shirt is a good option.

The lightweight pants that zip off into shorts would be a good choice. Don't forget to bring a hat.
