Guatemala City to Antigua

I am arriving in GC around 900pm and the hotel in Antigua is sending a shuttle to pick me up. Is it safe to travel that route at night or should I get a hotel until morning? I too have fallen victim to State Department website panic..... Thank you

It's safe. That road is still fairly heavily traveled that late.

Agree with DonCraig. You have nothing to worry about . It's a well travelled four-lane highway.

That's what I'm doing in July. Seems my flights generally arrive after 8pm and this year it's 9pm. Happy trails!
