Can someone pls help?

my husband and i want to go to roatan 4 2 weeks and we very much want to stay in a little cabin or cabana and be either on west bay or at least a beach simmaler to it -ie we do not want to have to go into the water off of a pier or wearing shoes but it has to be quiet -no cruise people and have a resturant and bar close -we were first looking at fosters but now having 2nd thoughts becuz of the condos going up and cruisers going diving was thinking it may be alittle too crowded and busy for us -then looked at tranqual seas but the beach in the pics of sandy bay look too rocky - is there anywhere that is just right? quiet single cabanas and nice beach.

we are swimmers and snorkelers looking for a peacful retreat.

Cruiser are usually only there from 9-5 +/- a couple hours. Even when they are there they mostly head to West Bay and hit the beach.

I'm sure anyplace around West End would suit you. Otherwise find a place further out and rent a car (perhaps around Blue Bahia?). I found it easy to drive around, however my wife is my designated driver.

Personally, we love West End, but I wouldn't say that it's quiet. I'm sure that there are some accomodations which are off the main drag, but there usually seems to be a fair amount of traffic/party noise when we've been there. It doesn't bother us, but if you're looking for peaceful, you may want to look elsewhere.

A couple of times we've rented private homes in remote locations which was awesome, but the beaches weren't as user friendly with lots of turtle grass,etc... Not to mention, they required a 4-wheel drive rental vehicle as the roads approaching their locations were more than a little daunting on both occasions.

I've seen your other posts as well, and the responses. As someone else mentioned, the beach at Tranquil Seas isn't as beautiful as West Bay, which is a spectacular beach. I like Fosters, and the construction isn't bothersome (I was just on West Bay a month or go or so). There are many more restaurant options than if you stay at Tranquil Seas (although TS has its own restaurant, and Blue Bahia has a very good restaurant a short walk away). Personally I think Sandy Bay is a better choice for divers, because the beach just isn't as nice as West Bay.

As trip advisors to the various forums, we try to provide information to the posters.

The original post was for a sandy beach for snorkeling and swimming (which is more so for West Bay rather than West End)

Which is also the reason Cruisers head there - alas

As for nice cabins / cabanas, there is West Bay Village, Island Pearl, Cabana Lana (all on the beach) , off the beach by a few 100 yards would be West Bay Lodge, West Bay Colonia.

PS Stayed at Fosters last year

Palmetto Bay is all kinds of quite with a bar and resturant. It is a bit remote for some people but if renting a car can be a very nice place.

The beach directly out is not amazing but one can walk west to find one very much like West Bay Beach with very few people about.

I have pics if you are interested toss me a private message
