Anybody there now? Are there a lot of jelly fish?

Heading out again next week, there were a few jellies the last two weeks of March this year when I was there, I know April there can be quite a few. Can any avid snorkeler who has recently been at West Bay or Halfmoon Bay give me an update?

No jellys the 10 days I've been here. Lots of peanut butter fish however. There's been an absolute explosion of baby puffers all over the island. Very cute with helicopter fins and purple mascara eyes. Huge visibility today off west end now that the trade winds have returned.

Thanks for the update, may I ask what peanut butter fish are? I have never heard of them.

I worried about jellyfish in April and didn't see one in Half Moon Bay.

Did make sure to rinse off when I came out of the water as well.

I wonder how many people will read this and google "peanut butter fish" - you'll have that term trending in no time, dhauk. But s we all know, peanut butter fish always seem to be found near the jellies.

No jellyfish for snorkelers at West Bay as of May 6. Saw a family of squid and a huge trigger fish that "almost" looked like a sunfish! There were a couple of jellyfish at West End, but they weren't floating -- just sitting still on the ocean floor. Just be careful not to step on them!

Ok, it is a joke right? No such thing as peanut butter fish.

I was there during March 17-24th and there was one day that there were these little red things in the water and there were biting us...quite bothersome...we were told they were sea lice? Another day we saw some bread fish (whole wheat variety).
