Merriman's Farm Tour

Has anyone taken Merriman's Farm Tour? I can't find out much about it, other than at the Merriman's site. I'd like opinions from other travelers who done the Merriman tour (and the meal!)

I live here but I took his tour because I am a foodie and to learn more about the local produce he is using at his restaurant. If you are a foodie you will enjoy it. Peter's restaurant has been one of the best restaurants on the island for like 20 years. It's expensive but it's a culinary trip.

Typicallytopical - Thanks!

You have 2 qualifications for this next question: you're a foodie and Island of Hawaii expert. Can you give me a list of 5-10 not-to-miss culinary/food experiences? They don't have to be fancy, just good! Thanks.

Chris here, from Hawaii Forest & Trail. That tour has actually been discontinued and we're working to get all of the website updated. Merriman's remains a great place for lunch or dinner!

If you are interested in ag-tourism the visitors bureau maintains a great ag-tourism mini-site here:

Even if the farm tour is canceled, they have a great garden right at the front door of their restaurant. Nice benches to sit on, interesting foliage and then when you look at it closely you notice you are in one of the most scenic vegetable/herb gardens imaginable.
