Boat Tour Napali Coast

We are going to be in Kauai at the end of November, and are interested in a boat tour of the Napali Coast. Staying on the north shore, and would like a 3 - 4 hour tour without snorkeling or a meal. We'll snorkel on the south shore at other times. I'm having trouble finding a tour that meets these criteria. Thanks in advance for suggestions.

You won't find any tours leaving from the northshore that time of year - is that where you are looking? What companies have you looked at so far? Thanks! :)

Didn't know there weren't any north shore excursions of the Napali coast in November / December. Any suggestions on other departure points, and excursions?

ocean,

Yep, in the winter months, huge, huge seas are generated up in the northern latitudes, and they produce huge, powerful swells and and surf, And I mean huge. it is unsafe for boats to be departing from the north shore.

However, you can try a Napali Coast Tour boat out of the westside, Capt.Andy, Blue Dolphin, or Holo Holo. About a 5 hr tour at that time of year. The time can vary, if they cannot get into Nualolo Kai for lunch and snorkeling, due the large seas.

Once on island, give them a call and see what they have going and what the actual conditions . Sometimes if the north shore is untenable they will head the opposite direction for a Poipu Kai Cruise ....that will be from Port Allen. on the west side.

Almost all of them will have meals and cocktails, you can participate or just kick back and enjoy the scenery.

We know, personally, of no Napali Catamrans that do not serve food, and they will be snorkeling if the seas are calm..regardless, you can stay on board . Not eat , or drink and not go snorkeling. But the price is the same.

That is about it. It is the standard procedure, and you have elected to visit in November, when the huge surf and dangerous waves are smashing on to the north shore. So, you will have a fairly long drive to port allen . But , you can also combo seeing other sites and shores on the same day.

Captain Sundown leaves from Hanalei Bay. We chose them because they were the only N shore company. Of course, depending on the weather, it might get cancelled. They were a first rate company and throughly enjoyed our morning snorkel. Even the 8 foot shark that scared the bejesus out of DH and myself!

Itʻs highly unlikely that Capt. Sundown will be doing tours at the end of November. Youʻre pretty much going to have to head down to Port Allen and go with Holoholo or Capt. Andy, or Liko, if you prefer a power boat.
