Hanalei midday snack ?

Hi again !

Here is another question for you experts :

where in Hanalei / nearby could we stop for a light meal about 12.00 or so ? We will then be heading towards the Na' Aina Kai gardens.

I see that most venues are open only for dinner.

BIG THANKYOU !! laura

If you are coming from the south, you could stop at Duane's Ono Char for a burger or in Kilauea (near the light house), there are a few restaurants like Kilauea Bakery & Pau Hana Pizza.

In Hanalei, there is Hanalei Gourmet, Neide's Salsa and Samba, Kalypso's, Tropical Taco are all open for lunch . . . I am sure there are others too, but those are the first that come to mind. :)

I am not sure where you are getting your information but most places are open for lunch and dinner. The only place I can think of that's open for dinner only is BarAcuda.

If you want something really fast, go to Hanalei pier and have some of Pat's tacos or a burrito and go sit on the bench by the beach. Red Hot Mamas is good too. There will be plenty of places for you to stop and explore.

Go to the Hanalei Ching Yang Shopping Village center. They have restaurants, health food & much more. Enjoy the trip & be safe.

A few ideas in the Ching Young Village:

Village Snack Shop & Bakery will be light on your wallet, but not in your waistline.

Black Pepper Chicken is their specialty, very tasty. Share it and you'll eat for under $12.

There was a vegan/raw food place in the old Polynesia Cafe spot when we went last summer? If that's still there you get a lighter meal, albeit with a hefty price.

There's a Subway sandwich shop in the grocery store (Big Save).

My favorite was Red Hot Mommas. But not so light - burritos the size of a baby's head !

Aloha from Kaua'i!

Also, there is now "L & L" in Hanalei - at Ching Young Shopping Village.

They used to be located in Kapa'a and I used to grab a plate lunch from there before hula for dinner (but they have lunch as well).

You can also get a healthy salad or other great meal from Papaya's (Harvest Basket) - across the street from Ching Young Village. Their smoothies are excellent!

Janet
