Renting a child backpack carrier

Is it possible to rent a child backpack carrier while in Kauai? We're going to be staying on the South Shore starting this Friday (June 8th) for a week. I'd rather not buy one if possible for my 20-month old daughter since it probably won't get much use after this trip.

If it is possible, any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

We've used this company in the past (when the kids were a lot smaller). They will deliver:

Two more options:

http://www.kauaibabygear.com and http://www.kauaibabyrentals.com/ I have not used either of these because we do use our carrier a lot at home.

Each of these companies charges a delivery fee, so make sure you know how much you're paying for something you may only use once or twice. Another option would be to post a "wanted to rent" ad on the Kauai Craigslist: http://honolulu.craigslist.org/kau/bab/ We rented a highchair from a lady in Princeville for only $10 - it would have cost four times that from a rental company.

I know around here there are always a ton of carriers on Craigslist for $50-75. You could buy one, check it as a stroller for free on (most) airlines, and then resell it on CL when you get home....

If you do decide to buy a new one, the new Kelty size actually straps down (w/out the kid) to be carry-on sized, so you don't have to check it and can use it to get through the airport. amazon.com/gp/…
