Where in Poipu to stay with 80+ year old parents?

My sister posted yesterday asking advice on the best shore to stay with our 80 year old parents for 2-3 weeks to Kauai last week in Jan-first week in Feb. It was unanimous with Poipu as the choice. We'll rent a vehicle for day trips but would like to be located close to or on beach, easy walking for shopping and restaurants. Do we need a car to go everywhere or is there an ideal location in the South? And not sure whether to stay at a resort or private home. Ideally $300 - $500 a night for 5 adults. Any recommendations?

Not sure if its available for your dates, but what about Nihi Kai Unit #101?

Its a 3 bedroom, 2 bath ground floor unit close to the pool and beach with great views.

A car is needed 90% of the time.

Finding a rental for all 3 weeks might be tough to find during this busy time in Poipu. On a beach means Kiahuna Plantation. They do not have 3 bedrooms. You might need to give up the right on the beach requirement and look at The Villas or Koloa Landing.

You might also consider renting a two bedroom and a one bedroom at Kiahuna Plantation. Take a look at these options.

My 80+ year old parents love Poipu Kapili. Get the "penthouse" room that has an elevator. If they are okay with stairs then the townhouse is fine too.

Oh.... and you need a car the whole time.
