What is your favorite sunset dinner cruise to go on?

Which company? Which cruise? Was it worth it? Would you take kids on it (7 & 5) going to be there next week. Thanks!

I went on Captain's Andy's Southern Star in July a couple of years ago. Was it worth it? Not for me, my husband, and many others on board. They took us out on rough seas; you couldn't move anywhere without hanging on to the railing for dear life, and we were drenched within the first half hour. So, for us it was a total waste of money, and in the future I'll only take a Na Pali tour from the North Shore which I've done many times.

In summer Capt. Sundown out of Hanalei.

But I liked them all even from Port Allen.

You can have the kids look out for Goats on the cliffs or turtles or Dolphins.

The shearwaters and terns are flying around too.

The sunset part is at the very end.

We took our kids on Captain Andy's when they were 6 & 9 (along with my 80 year mother) in June 2008. Great fun and worth the money. IMO.

Has anyone gone in February from Port Allen?

We've only gone in the summer months but we have left from Port Allen at least twice. You'll really need to keep an eye on the weather and ocean conditions in February.

No contest, SOUTHERN STAR through Capt. Andy, out of Port Allen. The finest tour vessel in Kauai and probably all of the islands. Words are so much yada.....search them out on the Web. Beautiful boat, sit down dinners that are steaks that are cooked in their galley, wine out of wine GLASSES, and huge comfortable chairs at your own table. Plus a fantastic crew and seeing the Napali.

Southern Star is outstanding.

If you are not good on a boat, don't plan on eating for the dinner cruise.

The food on any of the cruises is nothing special. FWIW I'd do the mid day Niihau Cruise and snorkel, and then go to a nice dinner on Poipu for sunset.
