Shuttle/taxi/ to wailea

I’m looking for economic transportation to Wailea beach resort. 2 adults, one child.

We decided not to rent a car as we won’t be doing excursions every day and don’t want to pay the parking fee to have it sit at the resort.

Is it true Uber is $100+?

No telling what Uber might be, until you get there, and how "busy" they may be.

Check Robert's, Executive, and Speedi Shuttle. They are three of the available shuttles that work the airport.

How long are you staying on Maui? Sometimes the cost of the rental for a week is cheaper than paying for getting to and from the airport.

Check the rates at Costco, if you are a member, and at www.discounthawaiicarrental.com for a comparison.

You might get by without a car at the Marriott. You'd be walking distance to Shops At Wailea and all the other hotels along the beach path -- but it will be HOT.

If you plan to do any sightseeing, paid excursions may add up to more than renting a car and paying to park it.

It's a shame you don't want a car. Keep your options open to rent from Wailea. It's much more fun and spontaneous to explore on your own for at least part of the time.

A cab or uber will top out at around 85 plus tip, depending on whether you hit surge pricing with uber.

Are you planning to just "fly and flop"? Or explore the island at all? How old is your child, and what are your interests?

Brother in law really likes Go Airport Shuttle to/from Wailea and airport. Good prices too.

Parking is $30-35/day at the resort, that’s a min of $210 plus taxes. Our plan is to rent a car for 1-2 day trips when needed. We’re at the end of a 6 week, 6 island holiday.

I'd want to just relax at the resort then too!

If it's in the budget, I'd opt for the taxi then. At least that way, you don't have to wait for everyone else to get on the shuttle. And no need to stop and drop off people on the way to your resort either. A taxi would be the quickest for sure.

Not that I can think about for overnight parking near your resort... During the day there is beach parking but they lock the gates after dark.

No, you are stuck paying at the hotel.
