Will the bugs be bad in a few weeks or are they bad now?

That's a we have no clue as to what you are asking. Bugs aren't seasonal in Hawaii. What type of bugs are you worried about?

It's an "I don't know"!

We aren't having some mass clouds of bugs or something--have you heard that we are or are supposed to?

If you go to wet areas, you're likely to have mosquitoes any time of year. But your question is too vague for anyone to help. Maui is more than 700 square miles, and has between 26-29 microclimates :-).

texas, thereʻs no way to predict. Itʻs highly dependant on where on the island you are. Are you out in Hana? There will more than likely be plenty of mosquitoes. Are you up on Haleakalā? Probably no mosquitoes. On the beach? Probably few to none. On a resort lawn at dusk? Probably lots. If youʻre concerned, just put on repellent before you go out as a matter of course. And stay out of forested areas off the grass, especially from dusk til dawn.

Look, I'd love to help and I'm sure fish would too.

But making us pull teeth to answer isn't fair or necessary.

Tell us what *area* you are worried about, for example. Tell us what you plan to go see and do-as in RTH, Upcountry, Kapalua, La Perouse, or_____________.
