Snorkeling with a 6 y/o

This is my families first trip to the islands and we really want to plan a snorkeling trip-Blue Water Rafting has been recommended. We are staying in Kihei. She's very familiar with boats/water- spends the summer tubing. Any suggestions/recommendations on making this a positive experience for all of us would be greatly appreciated.

She will probably have a good time. I don't know how long Blue-Water actually stays out on the ocean but the only thing I would worry about is motion / sea sickness. I see a lot of families practice with a snorkel and mask in the swimming pool before taking off on a tour boat. You can also head down to one of the Kamaole beaches (lifeguarded) to practice and see fish. She would be most comfortable with a flotation device that is not a life jacket. We've never taken our kids out on a boat trip because only our daughter, 8, is really interested in snorkeling. Our 10 yo son was a little freaked out the last time I took him out. All kids are different.
