Four Seasons, Ritz, Grand Wailea, or Fairmont Kea Lani

Looking to go Maui for 20th ann. for 6 nights.

Packages with air available:

Four Seasons - $3,706 via travelocity

Ritz - $2,436 via travelocity

GW - $3,322 via American Airlines Vacations

Fairmont - $2,318 via travelocity

Have stayed at Fairmont and GW in the past and loved both of them. Fairmont will be under renovations at the time we are going.

That price on the Ritz is real low considering the air alone per person is $525 r/t.

What do you think?

Aloha,

Air has come down recently-check United for a Hawaii special-under 400.00 all in w/taxes etc.

That said, I'd grab the Ritz.

Check this thread about air:

I'm coming from New Orleans. LA is for Louisiana. I just priced it through United and the Ritz is $1,100 more through them. Leaning towards booking Ritz via travelocity.

The Four Seasons and the Ritz-Carlton are in a class by themselves. Everything else starts at the next tier down. So that price for the Ritz does indeed look very good. Kind of depends on what time of year you are going, though. If you are looking to go during the winter season, you might still be better off heading to South Maui for clearer skies and calmer surf. But if you are looking at this summer or fall, go for it!

When i see a deal like that at the Ritz on the dates I want, the index finger on my mouse hand clicks the buy button before my mouth shouts 'Honey, we got the Ritz!'

We are looking at the middle of November.

Is there any shopping within walking distance from the Ritz?

the ritz is very secluded. you will need to drive to whaler's village to do any sort of shopping. personally, we prefer the four seasons but that's because we can walk to shopping/dining and the service is in a class of it's own. the rooms are also larger and to me, more plush, than those of the ritz. jmo.
