"Travaasa", "Haagen-Daz", Whaa?

I know the ice cream brand name is a marketing creation, but what about Travaasa, the new brand on the former Hotel Hana, based Austin, TX?

First I have heard of it. It better be darn good to get me to switch from Lappert's.

(Roselani! Roselani! IMO better than Lappert's.)

Haagen-Daz is pretty good, I always put a couple scoops in my Ultra Slim Fast.

OK, OK! You guys are TOO funny!

HOWEVER, who is going to 'splain me about the supposed elan of all these "aaaaaaa's"? (Reminds ME of a visit to the doctor.)

I do like Roselani as well. Lappert's just has a convenience factor.

Travaasa is just such a stupid name. Doesn't sound the least bit Hawaiian.

Nothing was wrong with the old name.

Just like Chicaago. I figure they're marketing to people who like Haagen-Daz, which is frankly too rich for me.

Roselani - Haupia flavor. Yum.

Companies can pick any name they like. Sometimes they feel they can build up their name internationally and will have customers look for their name in other countries.

"...The word Travaasa was created by blending travel, traverse, and pravaasa (Sanskrit for "memorable journey")."

And I hope they do wonderfully; it's the only, and maybe last, hope for the Hana hotel.

Oh, "everyone" knows the best ice cream made in Hawaii is "Dave's".

I'm with you, Julauf. Haagen Daz it too too much!

I found Dave's (wonderful name, BTW) ice cream in the bottom of Sears a couple days ago. Surprise! Didn't try it, but I will eventually.
