Good Question!!!! Doubt their will be a good answer!

My prayers are still with the victims and their families and I appreciate SW letting the Maui forum know about it!

Anything that is not sunshine, sweetness and lollipops normally gets pulled...unless they of course are attacking DE's! It's a lot like reality TV! Say bye-bye to this one too!

There is some rule about not posting about accidents, crimes, and non-travel related stuff. However, a helicopter ride is most definitely travel related and it's a good reminder that bad stuff can happen on vacation even with the safest operator on the island.

An accident involving a tourist related activity is travel related! When I travel, I need to know the good & the bad so I can make informed decisions. TA has been invaluable in not only informing me about the must see's but also about when I need to exercise caution. This accident will not make me more or less likely to take a helicopter tour, but it is helpful information. But there seems to be a lot of threads are not, to say it mildly, positive in nature & invoke plenty of controversy. But, that is not say they don't help tourists. SW's news is a tragedy but it is travel related.

I've stated my case to TA...with a background in journalism I find this removal beyond offensive!

How sad for those involved, their families & friends!

I also think this is travel related.

We've always posted info about accidents.
