Thanksgiving Maui...HELP

Traveling with kids (9 & 7) at Thanksgiving...Where would be best? We had stayed in Kaanapali in April 2008, and am not opposed to staying there again, but...where else? We liked that it was not crowded, the beaches did not feel like they are man-made (like they do in Playa del Carmen), and the kids liked the pool. I also do not want to spend a crazy amount (I think the Steraton Maui looks great but is double what we paid at the Aston Villas). Thoughts, anyone?

Do you have a preference of a condo vs a hotel? With the family, it seems a condo may be a bit nicer and give you more space to spread out.

Note if you travel late April, you'll save more also rather than in the first week which is still considered peak season by many of the resorts.

Kaanapali beach is one of the largest beaches in Maui (over 3 miles long) so is a very nice place to stay (especially if you love long walks in the sand). We love Honua Kai and Kaanapali Alii on Kaanapali Beach (Honua Kai has full hotel resort amenities too which means you really don't have to compromise while Kaanapali Alii is closer to Whaler's Village on the beach boardwalk).

If you're budget is a bit less, you may check out Napili. The beach is much smaller but it is a short drive to Kaanapali or Lahaina from there.

Thanksgiving is a very busy time, outside of Christmas and the summer months. Let us know what your nightly accommodations budget is and whether you would like an hotel or a condo.

Whoops, just noticed you said you are coming late November this time instead of April. If you can push your trip to the week after Thanksgiving, you'll save a lot on the nightly rate and also avoid crowds.
