Day 2 on Maui Blog

Hope there aren't any errors...I'm exhausted! Time for bed! Here is the link to my day of whales, whales and more whales. They are fabulous! My pictures don't do justice to how close we were or how fantastic they were.

Holy mackerel!! That was a great whale watch!

Love the photo of your family on the raft. Y'all have perfectly captured the essence of, "We are up way too early so we'd better see some whales." Seriously, it's a great photo and one that some forget to take, being so intent on the whales.

The 3rd & 4th whale photo are very cool -- the escort's 'crucifix block' (with a backdrop of Moloka'i?). Whoever was on Kaulana missed out by not being on the deck of the stern -- they would have had the great photos you got. Wow there were breaches galore! You're quick on the draw with the camera.

My two very favorites: the close up mom and calf dorsals and the one following, the half fluke -- artistically nice.

Enjoyed the rest of your day as well. It sure is fun seeing you enjoy the different moments there. Thanks again for including us all. Aloha

Happy birthday Jennifer! Thanks for the amazing whale watch photos...... Those aren't easy photos to take! I agree with Susan that you're quick on the draw and it's even a new camera. We went on our first and only whale watch last year and while I got a few shots that made me happy, they weren't close you the wonder of yours! I hope to be on Maui for whales next spring.........if we are, there will be multiple whale watch outings !

Love the family portrait.....off on a whale watch! I always preferred the "special moment" portraits vs. the "posed in a studio" ones. Very cool to wake up and see your blog in the morning! I literally have had no problem going to work super early the past couple days! Deb

Thanks everyone and thanks for the birthday wishes! It is actually on Sunday, but I got to pick my gift out ahead! I think I got so lucky with the pictures because they were so active. I missed a ton as well! It was unbelievable how active they were.

Betty- I would definitely not describe whales as shy! We kept telling them to come party at our boat :)

Cindy- you will have a fantastic time- it is so beautiful here.

Susan thank you...if only I had you on the boat to tell me what all they were doing! The tour was really great though and we learned a lot.

CAnative- the ring is special. It's a Maile leaf and when I heard what they meant, I knew it was perfect!

Deb- thank you as always! I'm already so sad we won't be here next spring for this...wish our schedules were different!

Thank you Susan and corgi mom- do it! It's fabulous here!

Off to get ready for the new day

Jennifer
