Where to rent a condo?

Hi!

I'm going to Maui with a friend in October. We are looking to stay somewhere no too touristy and a central location to visit the whole island.

Any suggestion of location?

Thank you!

What's your budget? It's hard to find condos in a not touristy area.

Last year stayed on Sugar Beach. Location is excellent. Condo clean and spacious. Right on the ocean. Great evening stroll. Quiet complex but plenty of amenities.

South Maui is more convenient than West Maui. I like this site for condos there: www.mauiownercondos.com Or just check VRBO.com for Kihei and Wailea. Maalea is another possibility; it and North Kihei are somewhat removed from the rest of Kihei.

This site has aerials and reviews: www.hawaiirevealed.com If you start looking at the Maui Vista condo complex and go south on the map you will be near the good beaches. Sugar Beach is the only very good beach in North Kihei.

The Napili Bay area is more quiet and is close to Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kapalua and Honolua Bay. There is a beautiful, serene beach there and several condo units in this area. :)

The most "central" area would be Maalaea on towards Kihei in what is considered south Maui. Kihei is a typical beach town and is full of tourists and local residents. As shantybob say's the condo's will be located in a touristy area. Your nightly accommodations budget would be very helpful for us to help you.

The Napili/Kapalua area is about as far from "central" as you can get without going to Hana.
