A beach protected for afternoon winds?

We are staying in south Kihei, and I'm asking this question late as our last day is tomorrow. However, we have been driven from the beach several days this trip in the afternoon, because the winds were so strong on Keawakapu beach. Is there a particular beach nearby that is usually protected from the afternoon trade winds? Any calm inlet would likely do.

Have you tried far south, maybe in front of Makena Resort, or Makena Landing. Kinda depends on the wind pattern but sometimes these areas will have a little less wind than were you have been.
