Hopefully you can find a way to extend your short stay. Are you looking at hotels or condos? There is great info to the upper right on this page.

Check out the hotels along Kaanapali Beach, it provides all of your "wants" but we have no idea of a nightly budget! Help us help you

Also, what time of year are you planning on visiting?

Most people stay in West Maui or South Maui. Get to your public library too, and get a Fodor's, Frommer's, or Lonely Planet and start reading. I do like to hold a book sometimes, rather than sitting in front of the computer for hours. Unless I am on TA ;o)

What is this off TA you speak of Joan? Lol.

Sounds like Ka'anapali or Wailea/Kihei areas. Time of year? Budget? G|litzy resort or quiet condo? You can find it all on Maui, though IMO the middle class is a bit underserved...

So wanderer05...kindly explain your comment. What exactly do you consider "middle class" accommodations?

Proud budget traveler here that does not need high class digs to be happy!!! It allows us to go back over and over and over again......,all we need is what Maui gives us for free! The ocean, beach, warmth and total aloha!!! Ok.....a cheap condo, yummy food, tickets and a rental car!

We like a mixture of save and splurge and we find that staying in a condo in north Kihei. All oceanfront, huge lanai, gorgeous grounds and friendly staff. Our preferred beaches are south.....our comfort zone. BUT there are plenty of visitors that love the westside!

My advice is to read this forum over the next week, read the top questions, form a better opinion of what you want out of your vacation and come back with specific questions. We love to help you find your best vacation ever! Deb

Thanks all! I will start doing research just wanted to get an idea what part of the island to look into. We are going mid march a d we will have our 3 month baby... Its a short trip because i will be going back to work in April :(

We like to stay in a 3 to 4 star hotel with a nice pool area... Just want to relax and maybe drive around island 1 day.

THIS March???? Okay, get busy! It is spring break for lots of school districts, so lots of families traveling. And the whales are still there too, so busy busy time.

Do you have airline tickets yet? As soon as you have firm dates, rent the car! Are you a costco member? Check their website for a car, and also check with www.discounthawaiicarrental.com They are a great company, and will get you a good price. Just don't prepay.

And check out VRBO. Plunk in your dates and see what comes up. Also, check with ChasenRainbows for West Maui.

Condo would probably be best for you with the baby. It just gives you that extra room, and you can spread out a bit more. They are often cheaper than a hotel, and come with a full kitchen, and sometimes you even get a washer and dryer right in the condo unit.

Also, what is your budget per night? We can rattle off a bunch of suggestions, but it is useless if we are suggesting places that cost too much for your budget.
