Hyatt-construction

Does anyone know how long the construction will be going on? And is it a deal breaker for the resort right now?

Suggest reading some of the 'poor' and 'terrible' reviews on TA to see how the construction impacted others staying there. There are lots of good reviews, so the construction isn't impacting everyone.

Agree with BLBL, I would call the hotel to ask about when the project will be finished, and in the meantime, what type of room you need to book to avoid being impacted by it.

I would add the standard "island factor" of a month (or two) to the estimated completion date you receive should you phone the resort. While they *may* actually buck the odds and remain on schedule, it is truly an anomaly when a project actually is completed on schedule.

Hopefully, there are performance incentives included for the contractor -- this will certainly expedite the project; however, it is quite difficult indeed to account for all the variables that apply to construction on a chunk of lava in the tropics..

The tower is nearly enclosed (as in all walls etc) and topped off already..........so the really noisy stuff should be ending pretty soon.

Wow, I am impressed! Assuming they haven't modified the original plan, which was initially supposed to include: an 8,000 sq ft open-air lobby, a retail store, a 75-seat casual dining restaurant, pool w/ pool bar & multi-level pool deck, a 3,300 sq ft fitness center ... along with the 131 units inc. 19 1-brs, 100 2-brs &12 3-brs, it sounds like the contractor means business! "No surf for worker 'til 'da project PAU!" :)

(Not sure who the general is, but I've ruled out Honolulu builders.. ; )
