This morning was bright and calm on the reef so took a paddle up the coast and pulled up on a remote strip of sand to beachcomb. Due to the higher than normal surf we found nothing but coconuts and seaweed :(, no gold dubloons, ha-ha, but had fun. It's a lovely afternoon with light trades and clear skies.
Two days ago we decided to take a ride to Kaulapapa lookout to see if we could view the big waves from up above the pennisular. We stopped and visited with Hale Malu and her husband. Such nice people and they have such a lovely tropical paradise up in cool Kalae complete with little bungalows. I got to see the "beadaholic's" studio where she creates her beautiful wares. Man oh man, has that lady got ALOT of beads!! She showed us some pictures she printed from the computer of beautiful views from outerspace that she gets her inspiriation from. The colors were magnificent to say the least.
After a nice visit with her and her husband and meeting both her Kimo friends and three cute doggies, we thanked them for the visit, gave hugs, and journeyed up the road to the lookout. It had been raining lightly at Hale Malu's and it got heavier as we ascended up to the lookout and was very foggy, so the walk through the park to the lookout was a no go. Sad to not see the big waves but very happy to meet Hale and her husband and finally see her piece of paradise!
