Hawaiian airlines question

So i went on seatguru to see about the entertainment systems on Hawaiian airlines boeing 767 and this is what it said for coach class:

Personal entertainment systems may be purchased on on Transpacific and South Pacific flights. There is a $5 viewing fee for coach passengers. (Fee still applies if you bring your own headsets.) These personalized TVs provide a choice of on-demand movies, TV shows, music and music videos.

So when we got on the flight, do we ask a flight attendant for a personal TV, or do we purchase it somewhere else??

anyone know who's flown Hawaiian airlines a lot?

They call them "digeplayers"...

They are individual units about the size of laptop computer that are pre-loaded with maybe a dozen movies (some newer, some classic, some about Hawaii), a bunch of television shows, cartoons, music and specialty shows.

They cost $15 to rent for the entire flight, and the cabin stewards come down the aisle shortly after take-off with a cart to rent them out, and must be turned in about 45 minutes before landing.

If you get one, make sure to watch "The Ride", an incredible local-made production about a modern Calif surfer transported back to 1911 and the Waikiki of Duke Kahanamoku.

The $5 entertainment fee is only for the headset to watch the movie and programs on the main viewing screen in the cabin.

nope - no interactive map. The digiplayers are stand-alone entertainment.

Are all of the airlines like this? So if you don't rent these you want have anything to watch. So I never been on an airplane for 8 hours. The longest I've been on a plane is 3 to Cancun.

no....only Hawaiian is offering this player. ( 15) and the regular movie with head set (5). All the others have just the movie and tv reruns.

The gps map is a feature on long flights like 10+ hours in first class....along with your dvd player, 200 chanel sterio, 24" tv, and seat that makes into a bed after a 5 course dinner and wine.

For those who want to experience the best way to travel...save your frequent flyer miles for an international first class ticket and be totaly blown away... Once you try it you wont be the same...
