Turtle Bay Villas or Ko Olina?

Could people give their opinions on which resort they prefer?

It looks as though we will have to choose just one.

We have two teenagers, and as a family like to swim, sightsee, and hopefully, relax! We also like places where it will not be wall to wall people!

Can anyone give me some idea where we would be better suited?

I can only comment on Ko Olina. We stayed at the JW Marriott. We lovedthe area and were glad we were not in Waikiki. For us it was convenient to get to the N. Shore, or Waikiki at least at off times and we had no problems driving around.

The Marriott pool was small but if we were going to lay there all day we went out early. We loved the hotel.

I was just at the Marriott (not JW) in Ko Olina. It was awesome! Ko Olina is just a great place to stay. Its quiet and peaceful. We went to Waikiki and hated it bc it was so crowded--reminded us of Vegas or Miami.

The drive is not that far from the sights. Waikiki is about 30 minutes, North Shore about the same--of course we avoided heavy traffic hours.

Turtle Bay, at least from Ko Olina, seemed WAY far. Not sure how far it is from the airport, but we drove by and thought "this is a little too secluded"

We have stayed at both. Loced Ko Olina a little more as it did not seem so isolated. While there we drove over to the North Shore twice for dinner and sightseeing. Turtle Bay is on that point but very beautiful. It is a tough choice, but when we go back next April we opted for Ko Olina. At Ko Olina you can get to the North Shore in about 45 minutes and the same to go into Honolulu. It makes both areas accessible and you have the georgeous sunsets at Ko Olina
