Transportation

Hi,

We will be in Oahu for one night before our cruise sets sail. We are staying at the Hilton Hawaiian village. We had not planed to rent a car.

What's the best ( or cheapest ) way to get from the airport to our hotel, and then from our hotel to the pier the next evening?

Thanks.

snard ... you have a couple of options.

Cheapest option is for you to take Roberts Airport Shuttle from the airport, located outside baggage claim on the outside median strip. Approx. $9.00 a person to HHV. This trip can take an hour or so, depending on how many stops and what hotel is first.

The other option for convenience is the taxi from the airport to HHV for approx. $30.00 one way. After a long flight from PDX, taxi is the way. Approx. 20 to 30 minutes depending on the time of the day.

When you depart for the pier, take the taxi, approx.$17.00 from HHV. Approx, 10 minutes.

Good luck

The best is to take a taxi from the airport to HHV and then a taxi to the Pier from HHV. It also may be the cheapest - depending on how many of you share the taxi. The shuttle (Roberts) is a BIG bus that makes several stops within the airport, often waiting for groups. It then makes stops at the various hotels. Given your short and precious time on Waikiki, I would recommend a taxi. There are smaller shuttles, but the recent reviews sound bizzare. Stick with the cab. You'll be tired and hungry.

From HHV to the Pier -- you might chat with your concierge. Taking the shuttle may require that you leave a little earlier, while taking a cab is direct and relatively speedy.

Have a great trip.

Thanks alot people!

We have 2 couples. We will be splitting a cab 2 ways. It's cheaper for us to take a cab. That makes the decission real easy.

Thanks again.
