Recommendation for Dim Sum in Honolulu

Can someone please recommend an authentic and good dim sum restaurant in the Honolulu area? It doesn't have to be in Chinatown, but it would be great if it's.

I haven't had dim sum in Honolulu before and I want to try it.

Thanks.

Legend, Fook Lam and Royal Garden for traditional carts, Mei Sum for off a menu.

It's really a matter of personal taste, but Mei Sum is our favorite. They used to have waitresses circulate with trays of food for customers to choose from so we only ordered noodles etc. off the menu. Haven't been to their new location a block or so away, but heard it's bigger and nicer. Great dim sum. We always go there whenever we visit Honolulu. This might help:

I look on yelp and it looks like Fook Lam has the highest rating.

I might try that when I'm in Oahu and it looks like it's close to Chinatown.

You got the names of all the "best and the brightest" Scooby....

Scotty really knows his stuff when it comes to dim sum.

Another one I would add, a little more pricey, but with a great selection and easily the nicest restaurant (by far, as dim sum joints ain't known for their ambience), is The Mandalay.

An actual "elegant" Chinese restaurant.

On Alakea Street in the financial district Downtown, rIght across from my office. It's where we take mainland clients who want good dim sum (or off-menu Chinese) that we want to impress or who require a little more snobby setting than Chinatown.

Thank you everyone.

I guess I would need to eat dim sum more than just one time when I'm in Oahu this time. :)

I will second The Mandalay. Whenever I'm in town visiting American Savings Bank for business, I take them there. Ono grinds!
