Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach

I believe that hotel guests can use the lounge chair near the pool but if I were to try to get one on the beach, I have to pay $50?

Are the ones on the beach also owned and controlled by the hotel?

No they are not, there have been other posts that say the chairs are around 15.00 to rent, its the umbrellas that cost more making it our 50.00

If this is a deal-breaker for you - call them. Things change.

The chairs on the beach and umbrella are not run by the hotel.

We stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki in 2009, we went to Walmart and bought two small foldable beach chairs and an umbrella for about $20 for all 3. We used it every day we were on the beach plus we had it in our vehicle when we traveled to Kailua Beach and the north shore. We then gave it away to a family that had just arrived the day we were leaving. It was a worth while investment.

Do call the hotel as they will be able to give you the costs involved.

Happy planning!

I think all the lounge chairs and umbrellas on Waikiki Beach are run by private companies, even at the Royal Hawaiian. The only difference is that the Royal Hawaiian pays for the chairs and umbrellas for their guests on the beach (or at least they used to).

Thanks for the info.

How about the chairs at the pool? I recall that those were for hotel guess to use. I can always check when I get there tomorrow. I recall the last time that it was available. Anyhow, the idea of purchasing a couple of chairs and umbrella for when we travel to other beaches is a good idea!

Yes, the chairs at the pool are for hotel guests. There were always a few available when we were there a few weeks ago.

Snorkel Bob's has (or used to have) beach bum rental for $30/week. Consists of two chairs, an umbrella, a cooler & two books.
