Do u need to book ahead surfing lessons in August?

Hello We will be staying at Kailua from Aug 9 to 25 and our son and his friend would like surfing lessons. We would like to book the lessons near Kailua. Can anyone help with advice as to whether we need to book these in advance in August or will we be likely to be able to book on arrival?

Thank you

Aloha,

For the best surfing lesson Waikiki is where you want to be esp. in Aug.

Aug.. in Waikiki has the waves that are smooth , long and easy to learn on

Kailua has a shorebreak except when the North Shore is huge in the winter months.

Check out Aloha Beach Services

For the non -surfers you all can get in one of the outrigger canoes and catch some waves that way.

Book it now if you like, the weather will not be a problem.

Have a great time,

Aloha

Ditto to what jet said. You're not going to learn to surf in Kailua...that's for sure. Waikiki is great for beginners and experienced alike. No need for reservations right now. When you get to the islands just give them a call. You'd probably be able to walk up, but this will give you some peace of mind.
