Whistle stop Pearl Harbour and one night on Oahu

Hello all

I will be on Oahu for one afternoon (plane lands at 13:30) and evening in a few weeks. We really want to visit Pearl Harbour but can only do it when we arrive. We are staying near Ala Moana. Is it possible to drop luggage at hotel and head straight to Pearl Harbour for a short visit before it closes? If so what is the best way to do this?

Secondly for one night in Waikiki does anyone have any recommendations for places to go for food and a few drinks? Somewhere quite lively.

Thank you in advance for your help.

You could spend a couple hours at Pearl Harbor, but only if you go straight there from the airport. You would not have time to go to Ala Moana Hotel, check in & go to Pearl Harbor.

You can use the airport baggage storage. They used to take customers to Pearl Harbor Visitors Center for free. Don't know if they still do. Send them a message & ask.

Otherwise, check your bags with them & take a cab to Pearl Harbor Visitors Center.

You likely won't get tickets for USS Arizona Memorial tour, but there is a lot to see there anyway. The last tour for USS Arizona Memorial is at 2:30. Sometimes there are tickets still available. Sometimes not. But you can see the artifacts inside & outside the visitors center. You can also see the memorial, USS Missouri and USS Bowfin from the back lawn.

You can tour USS Bowfin or maybe USS Missouri.

As for "somewhere quite lively" for food and drinks after, there are quite a few restaurants with live music right there in the Ala Moana shopping center (Chai's Island Bistro, Pearl Ultralounge, Mai Tai Bar, and others).

If you venture into Waikiki, you can visit Hard Rock Cafe, Lewers Lounge, Rumfire at the Sheraton, Kelley O'Neil's, Jimmy Buffet's at the Beachcomber, and many others I'm sure will be posted.
