Rental Car

We are comming to Oahu from Maui for a day trip to Pearl Harbor and to see some sites.

We have reserved a convertible, but are now having second thoughts. Is it worth it and safe to drive around the island and tour Waikiki? It appears to be quite different than Maui as far as driving goes.

Mahalo for your thoughts

It's perfectly safe to drive around on O`ahu. You should not leave valuables in the unattended car, though, just like anywhere else. Yes, it's worth it.

We had a rental car and loved it. It was nice to drive along the water line and pull into the state parks, which they had a lot. Although walking downtown Waikiki was easier than driving a finding a parking site. But I definitely recommend getting a car. You can almost drive the whole island in a day it does not connect though so you will have to turn back around but the scenery was breath taking. Have fun and just like said above don't leave valuables in the car and you will be safe.
