Man o war encounters this week?

Anybody encounter any man o wars this week? Or any other close encounters? If so where?

Portuguese man o wars are fairly infrequent in Oahu waters. Maybe 3-4 times a year.

And because they are on the ocean surface, any arrival on Oahu or other island depends on current & wave action. So no way to predict their arrival.

Box Jellyfish seem to always arrive 7-10 days after a full moon & last 2-3 days & are mostly on Oahu's south beaches.

We are just getting over the monthly influx of box jellyfish. These are the one's that cause real concern. Waikiki and Ala Moana Beach Park were the most effected areas this time but can go as far east as Hanauma Bay.

Portugese man o war aren't jellyfish but they do sting. As dusty say's they ride in on the currents. I find them a few times of year on the windward side when the trade winds are blowing their strongest which usually happens in the summer months.
