What's the deal with the free gift?

Aloha,

We are staying at the Outrigger Waikiki on the beach now, and there's a card saying come pick up your free gift? Is this a timeshare presentation? We leave Oahu tomorrow and if it's really a free gift with no strings attached I would pick it up, but I'm assuming there's some sort of catch?

We are having an awesome time, thanks for all your help in planning. Now off to attempt to catch some more waves : )

Mahalo!

Yes it is a timeshare presentation. Ignore the offer and the timeshare people.

It might be an activity presentation.

Could be time share, could also be a small gift like chocolate. Westin gives a tray of local candies at the Moana, at the Westin Maui, they give a tray of chocolates and a bag-plastic bags are banned on Maui.

Stop by to pick up your free gift as you check out, luggage in hand. What's the worse they can do, say no......

Don't think that'll help 3chi, didn't the Outrigger offer a breakfast for agreeing to sit through some bad presentation, aka timeshare that no one wants...

Chocolates for returning guests are usually waiting for you in the room. My bet is that it's the activity people (expedia?) in the lower lobby. If you're interested, stop and and see what it is. Take your gift and say thanks. While they are salespeople, they are far from the pushiest.

Haha, yes it is near the activities desk we walked down to get our car and they asked us if we have the card ... They Seemed a little too eager to talk to us, I think we'll either ignore it or get it on our way out.

Thanks again!!

We usually stay at the Outrigger Reef & always find a card inviting us to a free breakfast the first morning. We always ignore it as yes it's the timeshare sales pitch. Beware of freebies.
