Last min trip to Morocco for Xmas break!

Hello,

Just booked a last minute trip to Morocco Dec 24-30 (two twenty-something fun-loving individuals).

Would greatly appreciate advice on:

Marrakech: where to stay (10-50 euros per night)?

what not to miss (tourist sites, markets, nightclubs, best local/affordable restaurants)?

Other cities to visit (Fes or Rabat)? Train or bus to get there?

Do you recommend that we book in advance or just when we get there?

Any interesting events or festivals going on?

Many thanks!

I recommend that you book your accommodation before you travel as that time of year is busier.

Thanks..we will book hotels ahead of time..Heard anything about Nassim Hotel or is the Ibis in a central location?

Should we book train travel to Fez/Rabat ahead of time also or can we just go to station once we arrive and book a few days in advance?

There are two Ibis Hotels in Marrakech (book them online). One is located directly adjacent to the train station, the other is on the road to Casablanca a little farther from downtown, but a new hotel. It will be hard to get a better room for the price. There is also an Ibis in Rabat by the Agdal train station and one in Fes by the Fes train station. Fes and Rabat are older hotels, but still in good shape and a bargain for the price.

If you go from Marrakech to Rabat/Fes, I recommend the train. It is safer and an easy ride. Go first class as the ticket price is not a lot more.

The Ibis next to the train station in Marrakech is a convenient location to get around. The staff there are very helpful, a number of whom speak English, and breakfast is available from 4am-10.30am. The rooms are also a good standard.

Hotel Nassim is on the main road of Avenue Mohammed V.

I wouldn't choose the Ibis on the Casablanca road as it is far from everything.
