Essouria or Chef Chaouen in November

My wife & I are visiting Morocco for 11 days from Oct 31st onwards. Given the Nov weather I wanted to know if it would be better visit Essouria or Chef Chaouen ? I realize that both are very different places but wanted to get a sense of what makes most sense....

Thanks

chances are that you'll have better weather the further south you go, but with weaher patterns turned on their heads in recent years its impossible to predict what conditions you'll find.

I often think of Chef and Essaouira together because they are both very picturesque and atmospheric locations with little hassle....Chef being the mountain destination and Ess being the coastal equivalent. You should probably base your decision on which setting you prefer, although I would also say that Essaouira probably has more in the way of restaurants and "life" than Chefchaouen.

This is such a difficult question to answer. You are right they are very different cities: coastal vs mountains. A lot depends on what you want to see. Chef will be cooler in the nights for sure, although the wind in Essaouira makes it seem cooler there than it really is. I would probably vote for Essaouira. I prefer seafood.

I agree with all other posts. Very hard to choose. We were last September in both and they were the highlights of our trip.

Essaouira and Chef are both really beutiful. Essaouira will be warmer.

But what is your itinerary? These two cities are quite far apart. If you are in fez then Chef might be a good next step but if you are in the south Marrakech, Agadir, Ourzazate, then Essaouria is much closer.

The question is quite difficult to answer; however, what i would say is that every city has its own delights which makes it extremely different. I do think it would be a very good idea if you try to visit them both.
