I think you're much better off waiting till you get there, have a wander, and then ask your questions once you have a little context.

Get a guide book (Lonely Planet are good) and it will tell you everything, have maps to point the way and give tips on how to handle yourself while shopping.

Also, have a look through some of the post on this and other sites to familiarise yourself with what shopping in Marrakesh is really like (if you aren’t already). Moroccan businessmen use very different sales tactics to those in Europe, and many tourists find it a little intense if not fully prepared. They will grab your arm, they will tell you fibs and they will pretend to be angry/upset/unhappy to get you to buy…….this is totally normal for Morocco (and always has been).

My top tip is to do your research, prepare yourself to be hassled a little (and ignore it), learn some pleasantries in Arabic and you’ll have the shopping trip of a lifetime.
