Question on clothes

I'm leaving for Morocco on Friday and did a prepack of my luggage. I'd like to lighten the load by removing my fleece sweater but not sure if I need it for the desert at night. I understand it gets really hot during the day but how cold does it get a night? I do have one very light sweater I can take instead and wear over a tshirt but not sure if that will do.

The places I am visiting are

Marrakech

Aroumd

Ait Benhaddou

Zagora

Desert Camp - Erg Chigaga

Tarroudannt

Essaouira

Thanks

Coldest place will probably be Armed (aka Aroumd) which is at about 6000 ft above sea level. I'd take the fleece.

Thanks Tim,

Any idea about how cold it gets in the desert this time of year?

Hopefully the weather for Essaouira will be a little better by the time I get there in 10 days time. Ok, looks like I'll bring the fleece sweater.

Thanks for the help!

It always gets very windy in Essaouira so a fleece for walking along the dunes in particular will be essential. Inside the medina, however, is not windy at all due to the high walls.

Here's Zagora weather for the next week.

Low of 9C tonight, but as you can see nights become progressively warmer.

Regardless of where you stay, there will be ample blankets, so not to worry.

I'd rather have cool weather than rain. I've yet to ever get rain on a vacation so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my lucky streak continues.

One more day to go... :)
