Hello all of you!
We are going to be 4 people (a friend and I speak french, the others a little spanish and english) until day 21. On 22, another person will arrive at Rabat, and we will leave Marrakech, pick her up there, and go to Fez.
From then on, we have 9 full days, as we are comming back 1st January at midday. My idea was to stay a few days at Fez and then go back to Marrakech, but now travelling trough the Atlas and visiting Errachidia, Merzouga, Baumalne Dades, Ouarzazate (and lots of other places around those) and then Marrakech, where we would again stay for 1 or 2 days, for the New-Year and so that the person that will arrive latter can have a taste of the city!
Resuming, would be something like this:
Day 1: Rabat/Salé
Day 2 and 3: Fes
Day 4: Meknes/Moulay Idriss/Volubilis
Day 5: Errachidia/Erfoud/Rissani and if we have time Merzouga (to visit Erg Chebbi)
Day 6: Merzouga, if we haven't time on the last day, then to Boumalne Dades, passing trought Tinghir
Day 7: Get to know the region close to Boumalne Dades, then to Ouarzazate (visintg Skoura)
Day 8: From Ouarzazate to Ait Ben Haddou and then to Marrakech
Day 9 and day 10: Marrakech
This was a really fast itinerary I made, just to have an idea of how many days on each place.
What I really would like to know is:
1- We where thinking on renting a car from Fez to Marrakech, this way we wouldn't be stuck to the buses schedules, because as there are lots to places to stop by, I think that could slow us down. Do you think it's a good idea? We would like to see and fell a little of the true moroccan people and life, so I was afraid that by renting a car we would "step away" a little from them.
2- Are 4 days enought to make Fez to Marrakech, enjoying lots of places but without rushing them? Or should I take one day from Marrakech and add it there?
3- For the main cities we are going to book a house to sleep, at airbnb, but with such a "dynamic" itinerary on those 4/5 days from Fez to Marrakech, I was thinking on just travelling and finding the places to sleep more or less at the moment we arrived at a town/village. Can we find low cost chambers on those smaller cities without pre-booking them, or do you think this would be risky?
4- If you think it's a good plan, what spots should we add and adaptations should we make for our travel trough the Atlas?
5- From 14 (we arrive at Casablanca at 19:30) to 17 December we haven't decided what to do yet, so what would you recommend for those 4 days? We have seen lots of ideas, but we still haven't chose anything.
Well, I guess thats it for now :p. ANY other help is welcome! :)
Thank you VERY MUCH for your atention! :)
