Essaouira to Mirleft/Sidi Ifni

Hello there,

I see there has been the same thread almost two years ago but with no reply.

How do I get from Essaouira to Mirleft/Sidi Ifni? Do I have to go via Marrakech? Are there shared taxis/cars and how long does it take?

Thanks a lot!

Goodness, no. Have a look on Google Maps: https://maps.google.co.uk/

Marrakech is nowhere near the direct route.

There are buses from Essaouira to Agadir and beyond, also grand taxis. Allow five or six hours probably.

Invest in a Lonely Planet or Rough Guide book then you'll have this sort of information at your fingertips.

From Essaouira you will want either a bus or shared grande taxi going to Inezgane. They may say Agadir, but they normally go to the transit hub at Inezgane which is a suburb of Agadir. Once there, you will find a shared taxi going to Sidi Ifni. Just ask, and someone will point you in the right direction. Like Tim said, it takes about 5 1/2 hrs.

Note that this taxi passes through Mirhleft, and you can ask to be dropped off there. It cost me 55dh last time I went.

Hi!

So if I understand correctly, I will from Essaouira -> Inezgane -> Sidi Ifni/Mirleft

Is that correct?

Do you recommend the bus or the grande taxi? And do I have to haggle the price because otherwise they are likely to rip us off using the grande taxi?

Thanks a lot!

Yes, correct.

Shared grande taxis are faster than buses. There is a fixed price per seat, with 4 passengers in the back, 2 in the passenger seat. Sometimes people will pay for 2 seats to have the passenger seat to themselves. You can do the same in the back seat...pay for more seats for added comfort. Whoever told you that they will try to rip you off gave you misinformation.
