Agadir, a woman alone

Dear all,

I'm flying to Agadir tomorrow for a 2 weeks kuur so I'll be pretty busy 6 days a week with treatments and relaxing.

However, I would like to know if it's possible to go to Marakesh for one day (eventually organised by my hotel as I'll be travelling alone).

I'd also love to go to the desert and might book a trip for the day if possible.

My main question was to know if I'll be OK as a 47 year old female travelling alone.

Please advise.

Thanks a lot.

Regards to all,

Sylvie

Far better to plan an overnight trip (or longer!) to Marrakech as there is far more to do and see. For a trip into the near desert you should allocate four days, travelling from Marrakech. It simply is not possible in only a day. Safety should not be an issue especially if you book with a tour group, but type "safety women travelers" into the search bar above for lots of useful information from previous posts.

Sure it is a Muslim country but you do not have to be completely covered, whether you are Muslim or not.

I've included some infor in the following link on getting to Marrakech from Agadir:

tripadvisor.co.uk/Travel-g293731-c120434/Aga…

It is very easy to do it on your own as the day trip involved being dragged needlessly into herbalists, carpet sellers etc which wastes a lot of valuable time and is only designed to extract large amounts of money from you as commission for guides - fact not fiction.
