electricity dependibility

I will be traveling in late September 2010 to Fez. In San Francisco we might experience a brief power outage once a year. I need to use a machine at night for sleeping (electrical). Can I assume in Fez that I will have electirciy available 99% of the time or are power outages more frequent and/or long? Would I be okay in the Medina where there are older facilities or should I plan on Ville Nouvelle or some other part of the city? I would prefer to stay in the Medina. I am hoping to find a small one bedroom apartment for a month.

One thing is for sure, you cannot guarantee anything in Morocco, other than the unexpected. Power outages aren't that frequent, although they always come at the most inconvenient times. The new town is a bit better, but I've lived in both and have had them, sometimes for several days.

Thank you, Chano. I enjoy your replies elswhere too and find them valuable.

I can see that going to the Medina will be far nicer and it is worth the slight chance that electrical outages might be more likely.

I am looking for a small apartment in the Medina. Please see my new post soon. No need to answer here.
